The product/service is staged in a certain way that it stops the scroll immediately
(Conversion Format)

This is our Winning Format series, where we decode the content patterns that don't just go viral, but also convert. Every day, we’re scanning social media to identify the repeatable formats and behavioral patterns that drive results. Here,we map them clearly so you (and our clients) can navigate the chaotic jungle of digital content with confidence. You can explore them all here. And if you need us to fix your social media, it's here.
What's this format? How do I use it?
For this format, it really depends on the product or service you’re selling. As you can see in all the examples, it usually works best with physical products.
It’s not so much about the creator’s skills or storytelling … it’s mostly about the product itself. Either it stops the scroll, or it doesn’t. But, sometimes, even with a very basic product, if you show it in the right way or in a specific context that feels unusual or unexpected, it can still grab attention.
The goal is to make people stop and think, “Wait, I’ve never seen that before … what is it?” That moment of confusion, that feeling of “what’s going on?”, is what keeps them watching.
It’s a pattern break. And the stronger that effect is, the faster the views can take off.
As you will see in the examples, videos like this properly executed can easily get millions of views.
Examples
Example 1 - (15.1M views) - that big pink pot thrown at your face, of course you stop scrolling
Example 2 - (68M views) - too much emotion in a short amount of time and a funny-looking product
Example 3 - (8.5M views) - a massive piece of cake = pattern disruption (the account is specialized in trying weird-looking food, she gets sponsored for that)
Example 4 - (146M views) - super smart and funny use case for these socks, look at the amount of views it got
Example 5 - (65M views) - if it's the first time you see these slippers (we have seen them 1000 times), you stop scrolling
Example 6 - (111M views) - same thing, but just look at this massive amount of views and likes ... for a product that is not sensational
Example 7 - (38M views) - cheap cute product ... but it's intriguing so it got almost 40M views
Example 8 - (7M views) - here, everything is scroll-stopping, the product, the scenery, the visuals, etc.
Example 9 - (3.5M views) - strong colors and you wonder what's happening with the lights (that's actually the product), so you stop scrolling
Why it's good for conversion
This format works first for virality. If you can stop someone from scrolling by showing something curious, new, or a bit weird, you instantly stand out.
That little moment of “wait… what is that?” makes people watch.
And when the product is right at the center of that moment, they start imagining how they’d use it. Even without saying much, it creates interest. If the product looks clever, useful, or fun (especially something they’ve never seen before) people get intrigued.
And because you’re getting tons of views (you can see from the examples it's actually the case), even if only a small % decides to buy, you still get solid conversions just from the scale.
How to execute properly
Forget storytelling or complicated video editing, this format is all about instant interruption.
To be honest, the product itself has to do the work.
Choose an angle, setup, or context that feels slightly off or unfamiliar, even if the item is basic. Place it where it doesn’t belong, or use it in a way that breaks expectations. Don’t explain it … just show enough to spark confusion or curiosity.
That split-second pause from the viewer is everything. Frame tight, keep motion subtle, and let the weirdness sit for a beat before any reveal.
Avoid polished intros or personal talk .. those kill the pattern break.
The viewer’s first thought should be: “What the hell is that?”, and if you get that, the views will follow.
