What is this format? How to use it?

Begin your video by mentioning (text hook) a strong pain point your target audience probably has.

The more the viewer can relate, the better.

Then cut fast. Show your product/service / app as the magic fix.

It’s simple, used a lot, but also super effective when done right.

Examples

Example 1 - (2.4M views) - the visual (that goes well with the text hook) also helps to make it easier to process

Example 2 - (3.5M views) - same account, they directly mentioned the target audience (on the previous one too), so, if you're part of it, it's automatically relatable and you get hooked

Example 3 - (3M views) - still the same account, the GIF where he snaps his fingers helps convey the message that "my offer is a quick and easy fix"

Example 4 - (12M views) - pain point here is subtle (being careless with tanning) and the app is the fix

Example 5 - (0.8M views) - if you have this pain point (you don't want to travel alone), you definitely relate and want to see what's the solution

Example 6 - (1.2M views) - slightly different hook

Example 7 - (1.8M views) - with a carousel this time, first slide is pain point, second slide is the solution

Example 8 - (3M views) - the "nothing hurt more ..." is clever because it exagerrates the pain point, the "meanwhile ..." for the solution also gives a nice FOMO feeling (other people found out a solution and I didn't)

Example 9 - (236M views) - with the framing "POV : you have the pain point"

Example 10 - (12M views) - same account, same product, slightly different version

Example 11 - (8M views) - this one does not really tackle the pain point, it's broader ("reading books"), but it still got a lot of views

Why it's good for conversion

When the problem is mentioned right away with a text hook, it’s easy to understand.

People who feel the same thing recognize it instantly. They don’t scroll past or ignore it. They stop and think, “This is about me”.

If the solution looks solid and clear, it clicks in their mind without needing much thought. They feel like, “I have this problem, and it seems like they have built a good solution.” That grabs their attention and makes them more likely to care, and look for more information on your bio.

How to execute properly

Start your video with a short sentence on screen that describes a problem your audience feels often.

But don’t just say any problem … say the one that keeps them stuck, the one that annoys them every day. Use words they would use. Make it feel real. If they read it and think “yep, that’s me,” you’ve done it right. That’s when they stop scrolling. It’s not magic, it’s just recognition. People pay attention when they feel seen.

Now don’t waste time. Right after the problem, show how your product or service solves it. Not a full explanation, just a glimpse. A visual that shows things going from bad to better. Keep it clear, keep it fast.

The brain doesn’t like waiting. When someone sees their pain and a possible fix in just a few seconds, it makes sense fast. They don’t have to think hard. They just feel, “This looks like what I need.”

This whole approach works because the human brain is lazy, it wants shortcuts. If the message is easy to understand and matches what they already feel, the brain says yes.
